Anonymous asked: You're an incredibly strong person to be able to deal with as many little guys as you do. Just trying to handle one sick little ratty is so difficult and worrisome. Focusing on work is difficult enough, but you do that and school full time essentially. I guess I just wanted to tell you that your boys are lucky to have you.

Simon update
Well, Simon made it through the night & he is a little more lively this morning (he moved from the tunnel to the house), but he seems out of it & dull-eyed. He did take some food from me this morning & he still seems perfectly relaxed & comfortable, so I guess I’ll just play it by ear. He’s lost a good bit of weight the last few days.
My schedule is a little more...

My Simon Gray does not look good today. :(
I’m hoping he’s just in a bit of a stupor because I woke him up to bring him out, but he’s barely moving at all. And his body feels a bit cold. He is yawning on occasion, but he’s not really doing much else. I’m a little tempted to stay up all night with him in case he’s dying, but he doesn’t appear to be in any sort of pain or under any stress &...

crowsteeth:
I have no patience or self-control I just emailed the breeder I bought Sora from about two little babies she has for sale.
one is a black eyed white standard ear and the other is a black dumbo and eee they are really cute.
I dunno maybe I’m crazy in the head or something but I really don’t like not having rats. I fall into a routine and I hate change and THREE times now I...

Presently? Big fat no. Money’s not a huge issue like it was when I wasn’t getting enough hours at work, but I still don’t want the expense of spaying when I could avoid it entirely by just getting males. (And I wouldn’t just put them in a separate cage; my goal is to have all the rats in one cage to make traveling to my hometown twice a year. I realize it’s...

RATS, THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.
Thanks, Edgar. I definitely put a piece of gum in the pocket of my jacket a week & a half ago so that you could eat a hole in the pocket today, when the gum has long since been removed. I hope you enjoyed whatever remnant of Winterfresh taste remained on the cloth.

WATSONMOUSE, STOP TRYING TO SEDUCE ME.
In the last 10 minutes, she has given my neck a mouse-massage, nibbled on my ear, played with my hair, & licked my throat. And now she’s trying to go hang out in my bra.
O WATSON, I love you dearly, but not in that fashion, & even if I did, our love could never be consummated. Maybe there is an alternate universe out there where human/lesbian mouse affairs are tolerated, but I fear...

Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do, at least not that I know of—marking’s really common in males, & for some reason, they like to do it on phones (or each others’ heads). Mine are pretty good about not peeing on me, but they do pee if they smell that other rats have been out before them.
Mine don’t free range anywhere outside of the bathroom, but I...

Simon is my spirit animal.
I fell asleep while Oliver & Simon were out in the bathroom & I woke up because Oliver was literally bouncing up & down on my head (I think Oliver really needs babies to play with & release some of his energy). I didn’t see Simon, which was weird because he doesn’t move around a lot…when I fell asleep, he had been cuddling with my hand.
I felt something moving...

have you ever listened to a song so many times in a day that you’re pretty sure your iPod is like “wtf is wrong with you I literally have thousands of other songs on me do you think you could maybe try listening to something else for a change?”

My anxiety has been trying to come back all week, which really sucks because I thought I had gotten over that.
But BWHAHAHAH my first class got out early & now I have time to relax in anxiety’s worst enemy, an abandoned stairwell. It is my favorite on campus because no one ever comes in here but there’s a window outside, so I can see all the people talking & laughing &...

confession:
If I’m driving & let you in front of me & you don’t wave, nod, or smile at me in some sort of acknowledgement of how marvelous I am for letting you cut in front of me, I will spend the rest of the time I am behind you fantasizing about smashing my car into yours.

I just need to pointlessramble. with a little bit...
I found Glee to be more than a little trigger-y & I probably should’ve stopped watching because I was in public (at a gym, nonetheless), but I figured I’d regret not finishing the episode, so I kept watching & then waited till I got in the parking garage to cry ugly tears. And crowded parking garages set off my anxiety really bad, so of course the parking garage was packed...

My Rats' Favorite Things
Someone messaged me asking what my rats’ favorite things are. I’m a stupidhead & accidentally deleted it, plus I didn’t notice what their username was, so uhh…yeah, I’ll just go ahead & post it & hope they see it!
Badger likes his jingly ball (he enjoys moving it behind things) & pooping. He also loves banana chips & humping.
Bentley likes...

Anonymous asked: do you think its hazardous if I don't quarantine a rat before introducing/adding it to the cage with the rats I already have? I've bought three rats from the same pet store all at different times, and I had no problems regarding health or behavior in any way when introducing.
